About the Author: Raimundo Silva-Néto, MD is a neurologist and performed masters and a doctorate in Neurology. He is currently a postdoctoral internship in pharmaceutical Sciences. For the past 20 years, he has been dedicated to the study of headaches, with an extensive scientific publication. He is one of the translators of the International Classification of Headache Disorders, Third Edition (ICHD-3) into Portuguese.
Dr. Silva-Néto became a university professor 18 years ago and he currently is Adjunct Professor of Neurology and a permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences at the Federal University of Delta of Parnaíba, in the northeast of Brazil.
Dr. Silva-Néto is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology, of Brazilian Headache Society and of International Headache Society. He was Vice-Coordinator of the Scientific Department of Headache of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology, from 2018 to 2020. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of "Headache Medicine" and "Arquivos de Neuropsiquiatria", besides being a reviewer of several national and international scientific journals.
Since 1998 he is founder and director of the first headache clinic in the North and Northeast of Brazil. He is also one of the three researchers who publish the most on hypnic headache, along with David Dodick (USA) and Dagny Holle-Lee (Germany).
Recently, Dr. Silva-Néto had his expertise cited in a world ranking. According to Expertscape, he was responsible for 0.17% of the headache articles published by authors from all over the world, between 2011 and 2021, being the Brazilian with the best position.
Dagny Holle-Lee, MD, PhD studied medicine in Mainz (Germany), Boston (USA) and Jerusalem (Israel). She completed her specialist training as a neurologist and cardiac specialist at the University Hospital in Essen. Since 2014, she has been head of the West German Headache and Vertigo Centre and is also senior physician in the neurological department. Her research interests are mainly in the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of headache and vertigo disorders. She is author of numerous scientific articles and has also published several scientific and popular science books.
