About the Book

I am not a poet, yet I trek on the poetic trail.

The motive is precise. The expression is relaxed.

Mind me for my errors, I beg pardon in advance.

I am not a poet, yet strive to sing the carols of my thoughts.

I hope they touch you.

I hope they express the inexpressive,

I hope you hear them say all that is not said yet.

""I am not a Poet"" is a series of thoughts that reflects the social and internal idiosyncrasies which each one of us goes through. It is not a pedantic read or a lover's parody but reflections on the real life from the eyes of the author-an awakened dreamer, who doesn't want to leave her dreamland yet wants to stay close to reality. She depicts the aberrations of the customary life through her art and unfolds the thought that went behind it. She touches upon multi-varied dichotomies in life, that starts with tracing a woman's journey, then dwelling into explaining the internal and external conflicts of an individual's convictions. In the denouement of the narrative, the author expresses her own journey as an artist. It largely supports the notion of self-reflection and acceptance.
About the Author: Roohani took a U-turn from her career in academics to achieve her creative dreams. Growing up in the lap of mountains, she has always been a dreamer and has been fascinated with nature's creations. Her education in the field of Sociology intrigued her into exploring the eclectic philosophies that govern this society. Both the social and psychological aspects of the human world draw her attention.

She wishes to dedicate her writings to create an awareness of the beings and help revolutionize a social change for the greater good. Her writings, she doesn't merely want them be a recreation but rather a catalyst to evoking thoughts of social and personal reformation.

Roohani would like to call herself an artist, poet, sociologist and philanthropist. Though she believes that this is a never-ending journey. No matter how much she progresses, there is always room left for being a true artist. She is optimistic and likes a happy ending or at least the endings that leave you with a hope for the better.
