About the Book

This is the story of the lovely A'maresh and her tragic end at the guile of Pan Do Rae. She is a visitor to our world from the furthest shore of a celestial sea. She meets the courageous and kind Man Do Lin who is on his Life Mate Journey. The Village Seers Council welcomes A'maresh as one of their own. She falls in love with the heroic Man Do Lin, marries him, and they sire the gracious As'gareth. Their daughter's own Life Mate Journey uncovers the good Da Vid Son. But As'gareth is distracted from her journey and becomes the victim of the evil machinations of a disguised Pan Do Rae, who is jealous of the respectability of A'maresh and her family. To eliminate the scourge of a fatal disease from her daughter's body, A'maresh must sacrifice herself. Together with Man Do Lin, Da Vid Son and As'gareth struggle through the loss of the beloved heroine, A'maresh. Pity only the evil ones who wear the mask of goodness and cheer on the triumphs of those people who are good and seek to serve humankind.
About the Author: I am a self-taught artist and poet who is inspired daily by the wonders of life around me, my present and past experiences, and both the inner and outer beauty of all women. I have had a succession of jobs as a mail clerk during the '70's thru '80's. From 1990 thru 2010, I worked during the Christmas season as a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army. In 1990, in 2000 and again in 2010, I worked for the U. S. Census Bureau--twice as an Enumerator and once as a Census Recruiter. I am a graduate of the Illinois Humanities Council's Odyssey Project and have a certificate from Wright College's Information Processing Technology class. I received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in 1990, having enrolled in Columbia College Chicago from 1987. I was an undergraduate for three years (Fall 1969 thru Spring 1973) at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. I graduated from Maine Township High School East in Park Ridge, IL in 1969. I am a published poet in the Journal of Ordinary Thought (through the Neighborhood Writing Alliance here in Chicago) from the Winter 2011 issue, the Summer 2011 issue, and the Fall 2011 issue (in that order), having four poems published-By the Roaring Fire, The Waves of Change, Under Construction and You're Gone, Kit Kat, You're Gone. The Winter 2012 issue, "I Believed Every Word: JOT Writers on Urban Legends..." includes my essay, Harry Potter and My Brother's Spirit. The Winter 2012 issue included my poem, One of Those Rare Dads. The next issue will include my poem, Norma Jean Baker Died for Our Sins. I have personally edited Waseem Rahman's book on the theory and evolution of his abstract circular art, Embracing Universal Individualism. I introduced him to the CreateSpace online publishing system to his immense delight. His book will soon be published once I have given him the final edit. I have performed in an original production based on true stories for the Thresholds Theater Arts Project at the Theater Building. I have also taught classes in creative writing and performance at both the National Alliance for Mentally Ill (NAMI) and at Trilogy. I love watching science fiction, fantasy, and action in movies and reading those genres in literature in my spare time. I live in a studio apartment in Chicago with my 2 year-old white and ginger cat, Butterscotch. Previously, I had a black and white long-haired cat named Kit Kat, who lived to be 20 years old.
