For many years, Carol L. Bridges kept quiet about the abuse and hardship she suffered as a child.
The daughter of a woman plagued by many failed relationships with violent and twisted men, Carol watched her mother's husbands systematically wreak havoc on the family's emotional, psychological, and physical health.
With the end of each bad marriage and the beginning of every new love, Carol's mother seemed poised to turn her life around-and the lives of her children in the process. Instead, she invited more chaos and pain into their home.
It wasn't until Carol was well into adulthood and married to a pastor that she heard the voice of God telling her to share her family's story as a means of providing grace, healing, and hope to other women who've experienced abuse and mistreatment.
With compassion and honesty, Carol opens up her heart and her history, shining a light on the darkest places in order to encourage others and show that no matter how dire or desperate the situation seems, there's no brokenness that can't be healed and no binding that can't be loosened.
