About the Book

Si algo define a una empresa de familia es su vocación de continuidad a lo largo de las generaciones. Es esa vocación de continuidad en el marco de la familia, lo que las diferencia, y lo que les confiere su particular fortaleza.

Por lo tanto, aun en las empresas familiares en las que sólo participan hombres, las mujeres deben ser necesariamente consideradas, dado que siempre son protagonistas, aunque sea en su condición de madres de los integrantes de la próxima generación, de esposas de los integrantes de la generación actual, o posibles propietarias de una parte del capital, en caso de fallecimiento de sus esposos o de sus padres.

Visto desde esa perspectiva, podemos concluir que las mujeres tienen una significativa participación como integrantes de la familia empresaria.

La realidad es que una enorme cantidad de mujeres se ha integrado a las pequeñas y medianas empresas, y cientos de miles más están preparándose para hacerlo en un futuro próximo.

Son diversos los roles que puede cumplir una mujer en la empresa:

... integrarse al trabajo full time, en condiciones similares a la del personal no familiar;

... integrarse part-time (lo que, para una madre con hijos chicos, muchas veces constituye la única manera de participar en la empresa).

... más tarde o más temprano, será conveniente que participen de un dispositivo muy especial: la Mesa de Dirección, donde se integran los miembros de la familia propietaria, a fin de tratar los temas tácticos y estratégicos, como si fuera una escuela práctica de formación de dirigentes.

... una vez que los integrantes de la Mesa de Dirección han adquirido suficiente experiencia, pueden integrarse al Comité de Dirección, es decir, el organismo encargado de tomar las principales decisiones estratégicas.

... otra alternativa es que las mujeres de la familia empresaria sostengan el Consejo de Familia, espacio indispensable para el diálogo entre los integrantes de la familia, sea que participen actualmente en la empresa, o no.

... ser consultora en el área de su especialidad (abogada, licenciada en marketing, contadora, ingeniera, etc.).

Su aporte puede ser muy significativo, al incorporar una mirada diferente a la de los hombres, en la que juega un rol significativo el aspecto emocional, y el cuidado de los integrantes de la familia y de la empresa.

Así, sea como fundadora o continuadora de una empresa, sea que simplemente trabaje en ella, que forme parte de la dirección de la empresa, o que sea accionista, una mujer puede ayudar a la humanización de los vínculos, y encontrar soluciones que ayuden a hacer empresas mejores.

Sobre el autor

Leonardo Glikin es abogado, y actualmente se desempeña como consultor de empresa familiar certificado CEFC(R), una marca que ha fundado en el seno del Instituto Argentino de la Empresa Familiar.

Dirige CAPS Consultores, una consultora interdisciplinaria dedicada a los procesos de traspaso generacional y consolidación de empresas familiares.

Es director del Programa Ejecutivo de Empresas Familiares y de la cátedra de empresas familiares en la maestría de finanzas de la Universidad Torcuato di Tella.

Se desempeña como conferencista, tanto en jornadas de profesionales cuanto en actividades destinadas al público empresario y a sus familias. Desde hace más de quince años dirige el Newsletter electrónico "Temas de Planificación".
