About the Book

When Kukuruku, an immigrant from Nigeria, arrived in New York City, he was disappointed that the city was not lined in gold and diamonds as he had thought. He was even more distraught when the taxi driver that drove him to Penn Station threatened him with a gun and extorted money from him.And when Kukuruku was told in Texas, the state he settled in, that he had to find an American citizen to marry to adjust his immigration status to permanent resident, he thought that was going too far...what about the girl, Nike he left behind in Nigeria and promised to come for to marry? What would happen to her and the love they shared? The pastor of his Texas church had a solution for that. The pastor encouraged Kukuruku to let go of his love in Nigeria and instead marry a medical doctor who happened to be the church lead singer. But Kukuruku thought she was too rich for a commoner like him.He was introduced to a 300 pound American woman named Nina-qua, notorious for her serial marriages to immigrants as well as her sexual escapades. Nina-qua agreed to marry Kukuruku for a $15000, contract marriage that guaranteed an adjustment of status. When immigration official deemed their marriage fraudulent, Kukuruku had to find another woman to marry before his appearance before the immigration judge. When his friend, Aroboto, introduced him to a gorgeous American named Alexi, Kukuruku didn't know what was coming until Alexi showed her dark and ugly side, which was beyond human emotion...Kukuruku was rescued by a redheaded girl with pietcing blue eyes and freckled white skin from Paris, Texas. He thought he had found in Ashley the love of his life at last in the United States. But a former girlfriend, jealous of Ashley, shot Kukuruku and Ashley at their wedding. Ashley succumbed to her wounds while Kukuruku survived. Bimbo, the medical doctor he loved first, helped save his life, and after his grief over Ashley subsided, his love for Bimbo and the son she had that belonged to him was rekindled.
