In The Artist's Words

Quang Ho discusses with Linda Riesenberg Fisler, Blanche McAlister Harris and Barbara Coleman, the evolution of seeing and how that has changed over the centuries. We dig deeper talking about the three levels of seeing that a painter experiences. We'll hear Quang explain how seeing is important to all aspects of the painting--value, color, form, texture, shapes, and their relationships. We also talk about the meditative side of painting-the Zen of painting and how important it is to just let it happen once we are in that zone.
About the Author: Born in Southwest Ohio, Linda Riesenberg Fisler, enjoys the creative challenges of painting and writing. Linda paints both en plein air and in her home studio creating vibrant landscapes, marine scenes, seascapes and animal portraits. In her earlier work, Linda used brushes exclusively. Linda now uses brushes only to sketch out the scene. Her new work is created primarily with palette knives resulting in beautiful shapes of broken color and luscious texture. While trying hard to resist a label other than an artist seeking to portray beauty, she is considered a representational painter with influences from the 19th Century Impressionist painters. In 2012, she launched a very successful internet radio show called AMO Art Chat. In her capacity of producer, director and host of AMO Art Chat, she was able to interview and/or create relationships with some of the biggest names in the art industry today, all of which have greatly influenced her painting style, skills and knowledge. In 2014, F+W Media syndicated the show which is now called "Art Chats with Linda Fisler". Linda has progressed in her career to instructor, teaching in at the Middletown Arts Center in Ohio and online with Artist Network University. In December of 2013, Linda was given the opportunity to host a television show called, Color Your World, whose mission is to foster art appreciation through providing not only artists but any art lover information to help them enjoy art more. Linda is also a published author, having many articles published in The Artist's Magazine, Plein Air Painting as well as many artist handbooks published by F+W Media. Linda is an experience blogger and she has self-published a number of e-books. She is currently writing two fiction novels, one of which will be published late in 2014 or early 2015. This novel centers on a strong feminine characters whose life is being threatened by circumstances beyond her control.
