In Industrial Instrumentation and Control, each section dealing with instruments has been organized under the headings of working principles, advantages, disadvantages, and applications.
Three new chapters have been added, Power and Energy Measurements, Sensors and Transducers, and Application of Control Systems. This ensures that the book covers all the topics in the curriculum.
Three other chapters, Units and Standards of Measurements, Electronic Measurements, and Automatic Process Control Systems and Controllers have been updated with the latest in the respective topics.
Extensive analysis of case studies has been incorporated so that Industrial Instrumentation and Control will act as a bridge between theory and practice.
New sections have been added on the uses of Transfer function, Differential equation and Laplace transform.
Topics and chapters have been reorganized to make it easier to follow the big picture as well.
Apart from these additions and updates, an extensive set of quizzes and self-review questions have been added at the end of each chapter.
These include examples, short answer questions, multiple choice questions, true or false statements and fill in the blanks. These will help the reader evaluate their understanding while providing students practice for tests.
