About the Author: "Onney" (Lanora Chante' Laws) was born and raised in Houston Texas. Onney is a poet, spoken word artist and songwriter. She displays multiple talents from Rap, R&B and Literal Writing. Onney is a member of Houston-Poets.Com association out of Houston, Texas. Onney has shared her poetry with various fundraisers. She addresses social, political, spiritual, romantic and comical issues through the art of spoken word and literature. She completed high school at the young age of 16 years old. Motivated by life's circumstances, she then attended Braxton & Associates Computer Learning Center to become Microsoft certified. After completing her studies and receiving her certifications she then moved on to Wharton County Junior College out of Stafford, Texas. She landed her first accounting job at the age of 17 and has been continuing her career and education ever since. Now this young lady has flourished to become a published author and an entertainer through the art of song, acting and spoken word. She feels this is her way of giving the world a window into her soul. She has spoken and performed at various functions. She is also an accountant and assists in software development for a large restaurant chain out of Houston, Texas and surrounding states.
