About the Book
This book presents finalists and winners of a research paper competition organized by Prognica Labs Tech Fzco and Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Centre (DTEC), an event held at DTEC, Dubai, UAE on 14th January, 2021. About the Author: Khalid Shaikh is a serial entrepreneur, a technocrat, and a business strategist. He is the founder and CEO of Prognica Labs, an Artificial Intelligence powered health-tech start-up, and Affaan Technologies, an AI Consulting and Development Company. He is a computer engineer and has a solid record of more than 20 years of high-level performance in the healthcare and finance industries. In addition to his professional commitments, he also gives back to the aspiring entrepreneur community by serving as an advisor and mentor.
Dr. Rohit Thanki is a computer vision expert and AI researcher with more than 5 years of work experience in areas of computer vision, medical image analysis & security, artificial intelligence and biometrics including 2 years of academic experience in various engineering institutions in India. Presently, he is working as a research & development director, Prognica Labs Tech FZCO, Dubai, UAE. He earned his bachelor's in electronics & communication, master's in communication engineering and a doctorate degree in electronics & communication with a specialization in digital image processing and biometric security. His areas of research interest are medical image analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, digital watermarking, biometric security, compressive sensing, and signal processing. He has more than 40 publications in his credit and has published in reputed journals with high impact factor and international conferences indexing in Scopus / SCIE / WOS. Also, He has authored and contributed more than 20 books with reputed publishers, i.e., Springer, CRC press, Elsevier, De Gruyter, and IGI Global. He has been invited as reviewer in various reputed journals such as ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications, IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, IEEE Access, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Signal Processing: Image Communication, Pattern Recognition, Computers and Electrical Engineering, Informatics in Medicine, Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing, IET Biometrics, and IET Image Processing.
Sabitha Krishnan is an artificial intelligence specialist with Prognica Labs, where she works on innovative solutions for the diagnosis of deadly human diseases. Her research background includes experience implementing machine learning in detecting eye disorders and tumor diagnosis in the brain, breast, and skin, and ultrasound for detection of abnormalities in the abdomen. Her current research interest lies in the creation of unsupervised deep neural networks for cancer diagnosis. She holds a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science Engineering from Anna University.
Mamona Awan is a computer vision and deep learning engineer. She has more than 4 years of experience in computer vision and artificial intelligence along with more than 7 years of programming experience. She has worked as a Lecturer in an academic institution in Pakistan and as a Researcher in South Korea. Currently, she is working as an AI/ML Engineer at Prognica Labs, Dubai UAE. She has earned her master's degree in Mechatronics with research in computer vision and spatial augmented reality from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea. Prior to that, she earned her bachelor's degree in Mechatronics and Control Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan. She has authored 4 international research publications and has been awarded inclusion in GIST's WHO for her outstanding performance. She also received full scholarship from Korean Government along with scholarship award from GIST for her master's program. Her areas of research interest include computer vision, medical image analysis, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, and deep learning.
