About the Author Professor Amerika Singh is a renowned agricultural scientist with particular expertise in Plant Protection. He is basically a Plant Pathologist and had education from Agriculture College Kanpur and North Dakota State University U.S.A. Presently he is working as Director NCIPM Delhi and has also served Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar in various positions and as Director Centre for Advanced Studies in Plant Pathology. He has guided 10 Ph.D. and M.Sc. Students. He has 5 books and more than 115 research papers/articles to his credit. His contributions in the field of plant pathology education research and development and promotion of IPM have won him many prestigious awards including ICAR Award for Team Research for outstanding research for contribution in the field of pest management. He is widely travelled and a key member of academic bodies boards of several universities scientific panels and various committees of ICAR DBT and RAC of ICAR institutes and President of professional societies. Dr. O. P. Sharma is presently working as Senior Scientist (Plant Pathology) at NCIPM. Dr. Sharma has extensive experience in implementing IPM programmes in cotton chickpea and pigeonpea. He was also trained in U.S. and U.K. on IPM development of databases and forecasting of diseases.Dr. Sharma has made significant contributions on various aspects of plant pathology including plant disease epidemiology in the form of over 130 research papers/articles and 3 books. He was also a recipient of ICARs Outstanding Team Research award for IPM in cotton. Dr. D. K. Garg is presently working as Principal Scientist (Entomology) at NCIPM and is associated with the development and implementation of IPM in rice-wheat system and pulses. Prior to joining NCIPM he worked on entomological aspects of many hill crops at Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan Almora. He visited countries like Philippines the Netherlands and Indonesia for advance training in the field of IPM and allied aspects. He has published over 110 research papers/popular articles book chapters technical bulletins etc. His contribution on IPM implementation in Basmati rice has been recognized at various platforms.
