Biirokommunikation wurde lange Zeit mit Textverarbeitung, elektronischer Post und den Telekommunikationsdiensten der Post gleichgesetzt. In vielen Untemehmen hat sich gezeigt, daB der isolierte Einsatz von Biirokommunikationsfunktionen nicht im- mer die gewiinschten Rationalisierungserfolge erbrachte. In den letzten Jahren wird zunehmend betont, daB Anwendungen der Biirokommunikation in integrativer Weise zur durchgangigen Unterstiitzung von Geschaftsprozessen im Sinne einer integrierten Vorgangsbearbeitung im Untemehmen eingesetzt werden sollen. Das vorliegende Buch geht davon aus, daB mit Biirokommunikation die zielorientierte Bereitstellung von Biiroprodukten in Biiroprozessen unterstiitzt wird. Vor dem Hintergrund dieses Verstandnisses wird das Phanomen integrierter Biirokommuni- kation in vier Teilbereiche gegliedert. Die Basis bilden die organisatorische Analyse und Gestaltung. 1m Mittelpunkt stehen technische Systernkomponenten. Flankiert werden die Organisation und Technik von konzeptionellen Uberlegungen zur Ein- flihrungsstrategie und Benutzerbetreuung sowie von Verfahren zur Wirtschaftlich- keitsbeurteilung. In den einzelnen Kapiteln findet der Leser eine fundierte und aktuelle Darstellung von Methoden, Vorgehensweisen und funktionaler Eigenschaften der Technik. Ins- besondere bei den technischen Systernkomponenten werden auch konzeptionelle Grundlagen, intemationale Standards (z. B. ODAjODIF, ED IFACT, X. 400) und zu- kunftsweisende Anwendungen aus dem Forschungsumfeld prasentiert. Darnit hat der Leser die Moglichkeit, sich einen fundierten Uberblick iiber dieses komplexe und selten klar urnrissene Anwendungsfeld modemer Informations-und Kommunikati- onstechnik zu verschaffen. Dies gilt gleichermaBen flir den interessierten Praktiker im Untemehmen wie flir den Studierenden und Lehrenden der Wirtschaftsinforma- tik. Einerseits kann der Praktiker konkrete Hinweise flir die LOsung praktischer Pro- bleme bekommen, andererseits findet der wissenschaftlich Interessierte iiber die Li- teraturangaben im Text eine niitzliche Ausgangsbasis flir die individuelle Vertiefung vor.
