About the Book

A blend between 1984, the Giver, and Brave New World all mixed up with a taste of The Hunger Games, Intelligent Beings is part two of a three part series that begins with Official Intelligent Beings and follows protagonist Jagz and Shera on a wild and unpredictable adventure of a lifetime. In part one we see Jagz rise to interweb fame and eventually aid in the takedown and destruction of all society. Book two starts off around a month since the great reset, as everyone is now calling it, and the world is in total chaos. The interweb has been completely shut off, along with the power in everyone's devices and no one seems to have any clue as to what is going on... People are quickly losing their minds, fearing for their lives, starving, and using what little UrDg they have left to cope with the mass hysteria unfolding before them. Their only hope are the rumors that they have heard about the great one that shut down the interweb who is said to one day return to save them all. Jagz and Shera have managed to survive off of a small ration of Drood, but it's running out quickly. With no sign of the Underground Sound coming to rescue them, each passing day has become more of a struggle, as they fear, not just for their lives, but for the life of their soon-to-be-born child. With no hope in sight, they decide to risk everything by leaving their old, ruined world behind and venturing into the unknown, searching for others that might give them answers or food to maintain their survival. On their journey, they find a mysterious island filled with others living a primitive life, happy and free. The island is flourishing with fresh food, pure water, and an infinite wealth of knowledge-all for them to use as they please. Everything is going well as they settle into their peaceful and simple new life in the jungle, but a creeping suspicion slowly overtakes them when they learn that the island is not as it seems. Jagz and Shera, lost and alone, must fight for their lives to uncover the truth about their world, a world that they are discovering has always been controlled by deceit and fear.
