-Die Aktualitat Alfred Doblins- war das Thema des XI. Kolloquiums der Internationalen Alfred Doblin-Gesellschaft 1997 in Leipzig. Die Referate widmen sich sowohl der Rezeptions- und Wirkungsgeschichte von Doblins Werk als auch der Zeit- und Zivilisationskritik in den Arbeiten dieses 'unbequemen' Autors. Doblin wird in der Nachfolge Heines betrachtet, als politischer Autor und ironisch-scharfzungiger Kommentator seiner Zeit, der zugleich in mythischen Dimensionen denkt. Beitrage uber die Verfilmung von "Die beiden Freundinnen und ihr Giftmord," uber die Literaturvermittlung anhand eines Unterrichtsmodells fur "Berlin Alexanderplatz" sowie uber eine empirische Studie zum Bekanntheitsgrad Doblins beleuchten die Aktualitat dieses Autors aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven. Andere Referenten behandeln Affinitaten und Differenzen zwischen Doblin und Schriftstellern wie Bertolt Brecht, Hubert Fichte und Holger Teschke oder beschreiben die Doblin-Rezeption wichtiger DDR-Autoren. Weitere Aufsatze befassen sich mit Doblins Poetik und mit der literarischen Verarbeitung psychiatrischen und psychoanalytischen, anthropologischen und ethnologischen Wissens. Zwei Beitrage prasentieren bislang unbekannte Texte Doblins. Die im Leidener Kolloquiumsband begonnene -Bibliographie der Neuerscheinungen zum Werk Alfred Doblins- wird hier fortgeschrieben."
About the Author: Die Herausgeberinnen: Ira Lorf (Jahrgang 1959) promovierte 1997 mit einer Studie zur literarischen Verarbeitung gesellschaftlichen Wissens bei Alfred Doblin; Veroffentlichungen u.a. zu Doblin, Arno Schmidt und zur interkulturellen Kommunikation; lebt als Redakteurin und Autorin in Hamburg.
Gabriele Sander (Jahrgang 1955) promovierte 1987 in Munster uber Doblins Roman "Berge Meere und Giganten"; nach dem Studium Tatigkeiten als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Stadtmuseum (Munster), im Landeskundlichen Institut (Vreden) und an der Universitat Wuppertal; zahlreiche Publikationen u.a. zur Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts, vor allem zu Alfred Doblin und Heinrich Boll."
