ISSUES AND INFLUENCES IN TOURISM In this book, the impacts of tourism on the natural, social, cultural, economic, and technological dimensions are discussed. The basis of this debate was to build on sustainable tourism management. It is necessary to recognize the key players within the scope of ensuring sustainable tourism development. Despite the diverse interests of many different stakeholders, it is necessary to collaborate to ensure sustainability. Host community should play a central role in this framework. Each part of the above discussion has been analyzed at a different chapter. The second part of the book presents the discussion of these critical issues based on sample tourism destinations. We hope that this book primarily provides insights to all individuals, organizations, regions, and countries that are targeting sustainability for today and tomorrow. It is our greatest desire to create a sustainable change in the attitudes and decisions of every reader. Let us "make a difference to that one"!
About the Author: Ali Ozturen is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Tourism at the Eastern Mediterranean University since 2015 and currently is the vice dean of the faculty. He teaches across tourism and hospitality management subject areas and supervises undergraduate/postgraduate dissertations and Ph.D. students. He was the director of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management at the Cyprus International University between the years 2004-2015. He has a Ph.D. degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Anadolu University, Master of Business Administration degree from Faculty of Business and Economics, Eastern Mediterranean University, and Bachelor / B.S. degree from School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Eastern Mediterranean University. He was published various articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals has presented his research at all international conferences on tourism and management. His current research interests include Sustainable Tourism Management, Service Operations, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Quality Management. He is on the editorial committees for various international and national journals. He has directed several national and international academic projects in the last decade.
