About the Book

A young man, born in Torcy in the Paris region, is called Eugène, his parents are workers.

He is a little reserved, as he leaves puberty, he opens up to others, the woman frees the young solitaries locked within a shackle of unsaid things. No doubt that this shyness hid a malaise. He has no behavioral problems, unless he considers shyness to be one.

He follows a group coming out of high school, Pauline is there, she is so beautiful that she haunts his nights. That day, she forms her compass, he follows her, looking only at her. He is in love with his anatomy. He never spoke to her.
As the days passed, he ended up entering this group, the object of his desires became affordable. It's a very nice group of young people.

They come from very different social backgrounds, it's a gang that was formed in the middle of the playground of a private high school. In the group, only one girl, the others boys, adolescence, even finishing, is the time of love, but also that of nonsense and 400 blows. The madness that does not control. They are no longer teenagers, without being young adults. They navigate between two waters, as they slalom between delinquency and studious studies.

Parental authority is lacking, parents no longer exercise their educational functions, before their eyes, everything becomes possible. Failure to notice a change in behavior may be an indication of blindness.

Eugene is a dreamer, he finds himself embarked on a perilous adventure, because he had a crush on a girl. From schoolboy nonsense, they commit more and more serious offenses. It's exhilarating to break the law.

He didn't really want to go beyond what was allowed; Pauline's presence destroyed his ability to judge. His buddies have a desire for wrongful behavior.

The non-reaction of their immediate surroundings partly results from the fact that the criminal acts are not acts of violence such as stabbings, or the use of toy weapons. They are not accused of aggravated violence or sexual assault. It is not visible; the victim does not suffer. No movement of empathy can be created, we do not pity the victim.

This book recounts two destinies that will collide without meeting. One person fully assumes the delinquency, the other sees only schoolboy jokes. 18 is the stupid age according to some, we said it a few years ago.

We follow the journey of a prosecutor's son, the latter proves to be very attached to legal principles, his child only thinks of succeeding without getting tired. His father often intervenes to plug the breaches. He climbs the ladder with the support of his father, apart from committing crimes, deceiving everyone, he is idle. He wants power.

This atypical behavior does not generate a reaction from the father, worse, they cover them up, he acts with a view to justice never being aware of it.

With the help of his father, he enters Dauphine, the faculty for it's the party, the enjoyment of life, the money we burn. This youth has no limits, no safeguards. Prohibitions no longer exist, everything is possible.

At this time, Eugene was born.

By chance, they meet the son of the magistrate who has become a politician and a Parisian notable. The trajectories collide, it's a clash. A meeting that should never have happened. The shock is frontal.
