Don’t Flush This One! New Book Says Eliminate Spiritual Waste LONGWOOD, FL—How "regular" is your spiritual life? Author David Simmons helps readers get to the source of their spiritual and emotional "blockage" in his new book, aptly titled It's Time for a Bowel Movement. "What lies within our mortal souls can constipate us," says Simmons. Making the right choices affects our personal life, our success, and our sense of fulfillment. Choices include what to eliminate. The remedy: Eliminate waste. Otherwise, our souls can become toxic. Why are believers not seeing the results the Bible declares they can have? What is behind the difficulty in seeing one’s prayers answered? What types of blockage inhibit a believer from experiencing a life of victory? Rather than feeling distress, being in a place of spiritual famine or pestilence, learn where the problem is, how it got that way, and how to reverse it.
How ironic that a book like this would debut during National Toilet Tank Repair Month! Inspiration for the book’s title It's Time for a Bowel Movement, Eliminating Waste That Lies Within the Soul (September, 1-59781-487-3) came from Simmons’ twenty-three years of pastoral counseling. One day the author sat down and scanned through years of notes from those sessions. Suddenly, his eyes were opened to the fact that, in retrospect, everyone he counseled seemed to have the same problem: Blockage! What exactly were those things that blocked their progress? Much like the physical body and how the bowels eliminate waste from the body, our soul becomes toxic if issues like unforgiveness, depression, and envy are not removed. Left in our soul, these can influence why we choose who we choose in relationships, why we lack the courage to follow our dreams, why we pick a poor career path, etc. The author demonstrates how to put the Right things in and reject the Wrong things. He uses biblical examples and personalities to elaborate his points. Simmons hopes to encourage, motivate, and convince believers that success can be realized in their lives, and that God wants His best for us in this life. Detoxify, and experience abundant living. Renewing your mind is an attainable goal.
