Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Ältere Deutsche Literatur, Mediävistik, Note: 1,0, Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Institut für Philologie - Germanistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit einigen Jahrzehnten ist die Frage nach Identität und Individualität im Mittelalter zunehmend in den Fokus der Forschung von Geschichtswissenschaft, Literaturwissenschaft und weiteren Forschungsgebieten gerückt worden. In der deutschsprachigen Literatur des Mittelalters wird der Diskurs um die Identität auf eine fiktive, personale Ebene gehoben. So lässt sich an der Figur des Iwein Hartmanns von Aue eine Entwicklung ablesen, welche die Forschung unter dem Begriff der Identitätsbildung diskutiert, wobei fraglich ist, ob moderne Konzepte von Individuum und Identität der mittelalterlichen Dichtung gerecht werden können. Es geht in der höfischen Literatur eher um ein literarisch idealisiertes Beispiel für den Typus eines höfischen Ritters und somit - aus der Perspektive des Publikums - um die Ausbildung einer rezeptionellen "Wir-Identität" der höfischen Adelsgesellschaft. Der Ausbildung und Krise der Identität einer erzählten Figur - welche diese Arbeit anhand zweier Beispiele diskutieren will - kommt dabei also keineswegs eine Entsprechung der personalen Identität eines Individuums gleich. In der Literatur diskutiert und beschreibt ein Autor vielmehr Identitätsmodelle, die im Wechselspiel von Erfahrung und Imagination bzw. Funktion entstehen. In dieser Arbeit werden zunächst die beiden Autoren der zu analysierenden Werke gegenübergestellt. Neben biographischen Angaben zu den Autoren, ist hierbei in rezeptionstheoretischer Hinsicht vor allem der Veröffentlichungszeitraum, sowie die Überlieferung der beiden Werke interessant. Da die Forschung die Werke Iwein und Wigalois bis heute der "klassischen" und "nachklassischen" Artusepik zuordnet, soll die dahinter stehende Konzeption im anschließenden Kapitel erläutert und diskutiert werden.
