Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Skandinavistik, Note: 2,0, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Musik stört Dichterlesung" überschrieb in den sechziger Jahren der Rezensent einer deutschen Zeitung seinen Artikel über eine frühe Jazz & Poetry-Veranstaltung, in der Gedichte von Heinrich Heine zu Jazzmusik vorgetragen wurden. Die Verbindung von Jazz und Lyrik zur bimedialen Gattung Jazz & Poetry war damals neu und somit fremd und ungewohnt für die Rezipienten. In der heutigen Zeit stößt solch eine Veranstaltung, die zwei einzelne künstlerische Ausdrucksformen miteinander verbindet, nicht mehr auf Erstaunen oder gar Ablehnung durch die Zuhörer, werden doch die Phänomene intermedialer Bezüge in der Welt der Kultur immer bekannter und alltäglicher: "Daß sich mediale Ausdrucksformen und Gattungen aufeinander zu bewegen, sich mischen, gegenseitig durchdringen und aufeinander Bezug nehmen, ist keineswegs eine neue, wohl aber eine immer offenkundiger und allgegenwärtig zutage tretende Tendenz." Folglich beschäftigt sich auch die Forschung mit dem Phänomen des Intermedialen, dem so genannten "Drang nach Grenzüberschreitungen, nach gegenseitiger Befruchtung und Hybridisierung der Diskurse." Im Rahmen des Hauptseminarthemas "Nordische Literatur in, neben und zwischen den Medien - Zur Inter- und Transmedialität seit dem Mittelalter" soll die vorliegende Arbeit einen Beitrag zum Verständnis der bimedialen Gattung Jazz & Poetry leisten. Nach einem Einblick in die Jazzdiskurse der skandinavischen Literaturen und in die ihnen innewohnenden intermedialen Bezüge zwischen Jazz und Lyrik am Beispiel Schwedens wird die Entstehung von Jazz & Poetry thematisiert, worauf eine eingehende Analyse der intermedialen Aspekte dieser Gattung am Beispiel der Jazz & Poetry Jan Erik Volds, des bekanntesten skandinavischen Jazz & Poetry-Schaffenden, und anderer Künstler folgt.
