About the Book

After the break-up of Carter USM, Jim Bob goes in search of who he is, while constantly being reminded who he was. Whether performing solo acoustic ballads, writing novels or acting in a musical, he will always be - Jim Bob from Carter. At first Jim views his past as a burden, but gradually he comes to accept, and eventually to celebrate it. This is the story of Jim's extended gap year between the end of Carter in 1997, to their reformation in 2007 and break-up again in 2014. Find out how bands choose their names, what it's like to be sworn at by Ian Dury, how it feels to discover yourself on a pub trivia machine under the category: 'Where are they now?' And why there isn't a prime time Saturday night TV show called Britain's Got Authors.
About the Author: As the singer of Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, Jim Bob had 14 top 40 singles and a number one album, selling over a million records, touring the world and headlining Glastonbury. After initially splitting in 1997, Carter USM reformed ten years later for a series of huge sold out shows until they called it a day again in 2014. Outside of Carter, Jim Bob has had a long and varied solo music career. He has released eight solo albums and written songs for Ian Dury and for the 2006 Barbican production of Mark Ravenhill's 'Dick Whittington & His Cat', directed by Edward Hall and starring Trigger from 'Only Fools and Horses'. In August 2010 Jim Bob made his Edinburgh Fringe debut in the Ward and White musical 'Gutted, A Revenger's Musical'. Jim Bob's autobiography 'Goodnight Jim Bob - On The Road With Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine' was published by Cherry Red Books in 2004. The sequel 'Jim Bob from Carter' will be published by Cherry Red Books on March 23 2019. Jim (AKA J.B. Morrison) has also written four novels -'Storage Stories' (Ten Forty Books), 'Driving Jarvis Ham' (Harper Collins) and 'The Extra Ordinary Life of Frank Derrick, Age 81' and 'Frank Derrick's Holiday of a Lifetime' (Pan Macmillan), both written under the name J.B. Morrison and translated into French, Italian, German, Japanese, Turkish, Czech and Dutch. Find out more about J. B. Morrison at http: //www.jim-bob.co.uk/ or on Twitter where he has the username @mrjimBob
