Juni hates standing out. Unlike his cool and fun friend, Jared, Juni gets nervous just reading aloud in class.
Juni's family isn't like him at all. They all love the spotlight-especially his younger sister, Sass. Sass will show up at school in any outfit that strikes her fancy, including sparkly tiaras, six ponytails, opera gloves, and a feather boa.

When McKenna, Juni's crush, and Judy Pettigrew, her gossipy friend, catch Sass making Juni cry, he thinks his life is over. No one in the fifth grade will ever forget the time his four-and-a-half-year-old sister made him cry. How can he come back from such an embarrassing moment and show McKenna how cool he really is?
