About the Book

''Just A Step'' is a book about a young girl whose life was ladened with a lot of circumstances that was beyond her control. She later was able to surmount all her dilemmas and saw her dreams come true.
Amelia also found love with a young man that never knew that he would discover his own heartthrob even in an unexpected scenario.
So the beauty of the heart will always end well. Amelia kept smiling and believing until she had it all.

Amelia had just finished from the hospital and was taking a walk to the quarters where she was living when she noticed an elderly lady sitting by the trees watching the birds, it was exactly 4 pm and the lady was so engrossed. Suddenly the lady lifted up her face, looked at Amelia as she was approaching and smiled. Amelia smiled back and made to pass but the lady stopped her with a lift of her hand; Amelia stopped, wondering why the lady was stopping her. "The birds in this park are really increasing by the number, '' the elderly lady said, Amelia looked around her, taking note of the different kinds of birds scattered about. "You are right Ma, '' Amelia responded, what she really wanted was to go home and rest but it seemed the lady wanted to talk and Amelia who always showed kindness was ready to oblige her.
The lady cleared her right side for Amelia to sit down; she looked very nice and harmless so Amelia sat down by her side.
They sat for some time and Amelia started to relax.
"My grandson would be coming to pick me in fifteen minutes, can you sit with me until he comes, I am so much in need of company.''
"I will sit with you Ma, '' Amelia said.
"I am Mrs. Charles and you?''
"Amelia Ma''
"Nice to meet you, you live around here?''
"Yes Ma, I live very close.''
The old lady continued to chat with Amelia and suddenly a car came up, a blue car, probably a limousine. The car stopped and a man of around thirty-four years of age got down. He walked towards them; it was as if everything stood still when he turned to look at Amelia.
Amelia had never seen a man so tall, handsome and with such an athletic figure. He greeted Amelia with a nod and faced the old lady.
"This is my grandson David, David I want you to meet Amelia.''
David turned again to acknowledge Amelia. Amelia noticed a frown on David's face and she wondered at it.
They said their goodbyes and Amelia waited for a bit at the park before leaving.
There was something about that David that disarmed her. She had never felt anything serious about any man before, all the while at the university she had been noticing interests from men but she had never encouraged it. What was this thing about this particular man, she could never say. For all she knew, the man could even be disapproving her association with his grandmother. She saw the suspicions on his face, for whatever reason best known to him. She loved old and older ladies, Amelia's mother was not yet old but they reminded her of her own mother, she had been her anchor, her friend and her confidant. They spoke on phone in the night and she sounded okay to her. She had been involved in some charity organizations in their town, knowing her mother she would be very active in it, her flower business and decorations were thriving to the glory of God even though she slowed things down a bit. Amelia's mother would be visiting very soon and they would be having a good time. The hospital where she worked was paying very well and she had managed to buy a small car for her and once in a while, she would send some money home, all these made her mother very happy.
The money she asked for to do a little renovation in their house was sent and from the discussions at night, the renovation had been taken care of and some new furnishing was also done.
Amelia was smiling as she trekked down to her quarters.
