Die Diskussionsbeiträge zeigen, welchen Stellenwert dem einen und dem anderen Paradigma im aktuellen Urteil zuerkannt wird.

Flach presents Kant's conception of freedom as well as its potential for understanding what it means to be human. Krijnen presents Hegel's conception of freedom and shows that Kant's conception underestimates an essential feature of freedom. The contributions of other authors assess the results.
About the Author: Werner Flach, geb. 1930, Prof. em., Universität Würzburg, ist einer der führenden Transzendentalphilosophen der Gegenwart. Er hat sowohl eine Vielzahl von Veröffentlichungen zur Geschichte der Transzendentalphilosophie als auch systematische Arbeiten zur Grundlegung der Erkenntnis und der Kultur vorgelegt.
Christian Krijnen, geb. 1965, lehrt als Associate Professor Philosophie an der Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Promotion 2001, Habilitation 2006. Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen zu Kant, Hegel, Neukantianismus und der Transzendentalphilosophie der Gegenwart.

Werner Flach (1930), professor emeritus of the University of Würzburg (Germany), is one of the leading contemporary transcendental philosophers, not only having published numerous articles on the history of transcendental philosophy but also systematic works on the foundations of knowledge and culture.
Christian Krijnen (1965, PhD 2001, habilitation 2006) is associate professor of philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Netherlands). In his numerous monographs and articles, Kant, Hegel, neo-Kantianism, and contemporary transcendental philosophy play a major role.
