Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Alkoholismus ist eine Familienkrankheit. Eine Krankheit, bei der nicht nur der alkoholkranke Mensch selbst, durch seine Abhängigkeit betroffen ist, vielmehr wird die ganze Familie und jedes einzelne Familienmitglied in besonderer Weise beeinträchtigt. Erst seit dem die Wissenschaft Alkoholismus als eine Familienkrankheit erkannt und untersucht hat, beschäftigt man sich zunehmend mit den Kindern und Angehörigen, des von Alkoholabhängigkeit betroffenen Menschen. Zunächst geschah dies allerdings hauptsächlich im Hinblick auf den Abhängigen, dem man helfen wollte von seiner Sucht loszukommen. Lange Zeit waren Angehörige und Kinder des Abhängigen von geringem Interesse als eigene „Problemgruppe". Heute ist bekannt, dass gerade Kinder die eigentlichen Opfer dieser Krankheit sind, da sie in der Regel in ein alkoholabhängiges Familiensystem hineingeboren werden, ohne sich selbst dafür entscheiden zu können. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich daher mit der Problematik, der in einem alkoholabhängigen Familiensystem aufwachsenden und sich entwickelnden Kinder. Gang der Untersuchung: Behandelt wird der gesellschaftliche Einfluss von Alkohol anhand der Darstellung von statistischem und geschätztem Zahlenmaterial. Außerdem wird die Sonderstellung des Suchtmittels Alkohol und verschiedene Typologien von Alkoholabhängigkeit und der Suchtverlauf dargestellt. Unter Betrachtung der systemischen Sichtweise wird das Familiensystem der von Alkoholabhängigkeit betroffenen Familie beleuchtet. Unter dem Aspekt des Alkoholismus als Familienkrankheit wird die Gefühlslage und emotionale Situation des Abhängigen und seiner Angehörigen beschrieben. Zusätzlich werden die Überlebensstrategien der Kinder in einer alkoholabhängigen Familiensituation in Form von Rollen geschildert. Das Kernstück der Diplomarbeit betrachtet die Auswirkungen und Beeinträchtigungen der elterlichen Alkoholsucht auf die Kinder betrachtet. Neben der Darstellung möglicher Verhaltensmus
