About the Book

King Tutankhamon's Stalker by Horus Michael.

According to File 19, Ma'atium only works when in contact with Tutankhamon's DNA. Since cloning Tut was not feasible the Spy needed a sample of his heir's DNA to replicate in a laboratory. This would be made into an injection that temporarily alters the Genetic Code of its user, long enough to activate Ma'atium. The mineral has a variety of uses but one stands out: the ability to Pause Motion. Ma'atium is only found in Egypt. As it absorbs through the skin, it can be fashioned into jewelry, like a ring.

Michael James recalled that the University borrowed the Faience Ushabty of Kira from the Luxor Museum for an exhibit here. The University Museum has this on display along with photos from Dr. James. It was recently veiled since the death of Dr. Cordella. Michael decided he needed to visit the University for Answers.

At around 5:40pm Michael James entered the University via a locked back door. No one was in the building. The Police had cleared out hours ago, and a Media Van was perched on the main thoroughfare to the campus. The Press had campaigned there to cover the recent murder of Dr. Cordella. Four or so camera-people scoured the area for tidbits of evidence.

The podium was within arms' reach. Michael James noticed this small red light emanating from a statue eye in the far antechamber after he lifted the Lucite and swapped the Ushabty. The silent alarm was triggered. He ran to a window, which was locked. Outside he noticed four Police in riot gear storming the Main Entrance. Michael took to the stairwell. He saw Police escalate from down below, so he ran up to the Penthouse. There was a building the same height as the University Tower that he was in. So he held onto the Ushabty with his left hand, and tossed a rope with grappling hook with his right fist. The hook caught onto a Clerestory window in the second Tower. Michael stood up and swung into it, avoiding contact with the Police. He smashed through stained-glass windows that commemorated the Feast of St. Paul.

Seventeen Monks dressed in hooded brown tunics bearing the Hieroglyphs of Ka-Maat bowed to Michael after he interrupted their Sermon. One opened up his hood. It was Peter Longfellow.
"I have the Ushabty of Kira," Dr. James whispered. "I know what it's for."
"As heir to Pharaoh Nebkheperura you have my condolences for your friend, and my assistance, until death. Come, there is an exit in the Catacombs below the University," Peter explained.
They traveled through hidden passages leading to a spiral slide that fell into the Catacombs. The Catacombs were ritual tombs of the Ka-Maat Sect. Similar in design to Crusader tombs minus the Cross, the Catacombs served as a reminder of an Ancient Culture steeped in tradition. At the center of this Edifice was the Black Forge. Only here could one fashion items with Ma'atium.
A security camera inside the Catacombs showed the outside world. Police were mounting an offensive. Time was running out. Peter took the Ushabty to the Black Forge and a laser saw to cut it in half. Then he poured out the contents of Ma'atium into the Cauldron.
