About the Book

Is a four hundred year old gold coin the key Tricky Dick needs to unlock the mystery of who killed Scooter, and does he have time to put the pieces together before somebody new cashes in Tricky's chips for him?The storm that is threatening Key West has nothing on the storm of Kathryn Donahue, daughter of Thomas Connelly and currently holding a gun on Tricky. He needs to know how she tracked him down, and if that person is the source of information for the growing crowd of murderers, smugglers and shady government agents that seem to be populating the island at an alarming rate.No less alarming is the discovery that Scooter's abilities were far greater than anyone knew, and that the people responsible for killing him are looking to right a wrong they have felt for four centuries. Tricky is next on their list, but armed with his recent knowledge, he realizes it is his game to play, his rules to set, and he will stop at nothing to not only discover the truth of everything that has been going on around him, but how it ever got started in the first place.Even if the bodies continue to pile up around him..."Knee Deep And Rising" is the fifth book in the Tricky Dick Key West Murder mystery series. Previous titles include "Talk Murder To Me," "Traitor Vic's Rum Punch," "Make Mine A Double," and "Red Skies At Midnight."
About the Author: Jack Terry has made a modest living by immodestly following his heart's desires, and that includes writing. Born and raised in central Connecticut, Jack attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Armed with a prestigious, if slightly impractical, degree in theater he did what most people in his family had done before him: hightailed it to San Francisco. That began a lifestyle lasting more than 20 years which has seen Jack live and work in various places across the country, first while pursuing acting before transitioning into writing, the whole time paying his bills by saying "shaken or stirred?" For five years he spent working on both those skills by living in Key West. During this time he managed to win recognition for his writing, travel the country talking about rum, and most importantly get to learn a little bit about life on an island that's also at the end of the road. Most of Jack's writing has been best described as "slice of life...with a twist." Exploring issues of loss, redemption and love, he is not afraid to push the boundaries of traditional fiction, just a little bit, to create a world that looks just enough like the one the reader is familiar with that the differences, when they appear, do not come with a sudden surprise but rather slip silently through the side door. For all of his adult life, Jack has been carrying on a love affair with Key West, finally making it his home and fueling him to create the Tricky Dick Murder Mystery series. A departure from his normal style of writings, these books are pure escapism in every sense of the word: set in a tropical located and loaded with unbelievable characters, they whisk the reader away from the everyday and deposit them in the sun-soaked, palm tree-lined, blue sky and turquoise ocean world that is Key West.
