Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Kulturwissenschaften - Allgemeines und Begriffe, Note: 1,0, Leuphana Universität Lüneburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Bearbeitung der Themenstellung ist in drei Bereiche gegliedert. Zunächst wird ein Bezug zum Seminarthema hergestellt, um im weiteren Verlauf einerseits die Relevanz des ausgewählten Themas zu verdeutlichen und andererseits eine Fragestellung formulieren zu können. Nach der Definition von Arten des Kulturzusammentreffens nach Urs Bitterli werden im zweiten Teil ein Kupferstich und ein Ölgemälde analysiert. Beide Bilder thematisieren die Landung des Kolumbus auf Guanahani und das Aufeinandertreffen von den Seemännern und den Ureinwohnern. Anschließend werden beide Bilder verglichen. Der Vergleich erfolgt anhand verschiedener Kriterien, wie zum Beispiel Bildaufteilung und Anwendbarkeit des Konzepts von Urs Bitterli. Im weiteren Verlauf der Arbeit werden die Ergebnisse der Bildanalyse und des Bildvergleiches noch einmal präzise zusammengefasst. Der Schweizer Historiker Urs Bitterli definiert vier Formen des Kulturkontaktes, um zu beschreiben, wie während der Kolonialisierung verschiedene, sich gegenseitig fremde Kulturen, aufeinander trafen und miteinander, zum Beispiel über Handel, interagieren konnten. Doch auch heute ist sein Konzept in Grundzügen noch anwendbar. Gerade durch die Globalisierung, welche hybride Mischkulturen entstehen lässt, ist die Art eines Miteinanders und einer sozialen Interaktion erforderlich. Die vier Arten des Kulturkontaktes sind immer getrennt voneinander vorgekommen und haben sich gegebenenfalls zu einer anderen Art weiter entwickelt. Kulturberührung oder Kulturzusammenstoß sind stets die Vorstufen einer Kulturbeziehung oder Kulturverflechtung. Im Folgenden werden die vier Formen des Kulturkontaktes näher erläutert und auf die beiden Bildanalysen angewandt.
