Die wachsende Globalisierung zwingt Unternehmen sich zu verändern um konkurrenzfähig zu bleiben. Immer neue Entwicklungen beschleunigen Unternehmensprozesse und verändern Abläufe. Die Veränderungsfähigkeit von Unternehmen wird daher mehr und mehr zu einem entscheidenden Erfolgsfaktor, welcher langfristig zur Existenzsicherung am Markt beiträgt. Dabei reicht es kaum noch, einzelne Prozesse zu optimieren, vielmehr ist eine Weiterentwicklung der gesamten Organisationsstruktur oftmals unumgänglich. Viele Unternehmen sind sich der Notwendigkeit der Veränderungen bewusst, tun sich jedoch mit der Umsetzung außerordentlich schwer. So entwickelte sich nach und nach der Managementzweig Change Management, welcher sich mit der Planung, Initiierung, Realisierung, Reflektion und der Stabilisierung von Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es daher, aufzuzeigen welche Arten von Widerstand bei Veränderungsprozessen auftreten können und welche Rolle die Kommunikation einnimmt um diese zu reduzieren, damit Change Management erfolgreich durchgeführt werden kann. Veränderungsprozessen auf Unternehmens- und persönlichen Ebene befasst. Das erste Hauptkapitel dieser Arbeit definiert den Begriff "Change Management" und die möglichen Einsatzbereiche. Sowohl externe Auslöser wie neue Informationstechnologien oder erhöhte Markttransparenz, aber auch interne Auslöser die durch das Wachsen eines Unternehmens aufkommen, können Ursache für einen Veränderungsbedarf sein. Anschließend werden die Phasen des Change Managements veranschaulicht. Hier werden die zwei bedeutendsten Modelle betrachtet, zum einen das Drei-Phasen-Modell nach Kurt Lewin und zum anderen das Acht-Stufen-Modell nach John P. Kotter. Das zweite Hauptkapitel handelt
