Ziel dieser Arbeit ist die Beschreibung von thermoelastischen Kontaktpro- blemen mit den Mitteln der Kontinuumsmechanik. Dabei soll erstens eine durchgangige Darstellung der Konzepte der Kontinuumsmechanik und der Kontaktmechanik erfolgen, zweitens eine geschlossene Darstellung sowohl der synthetischen als auch der analytischen Beschreibung geboten werden und drittens sollen alle wesentlichen mathematischen Hilfsmittel in das Gesamt- konzept integriert werden. Da dies eine sehr ehrgeizige Aufgabe darstellt, die kaum erschopfend in ei- nem Werk geleistet werden kann, ist eine Beschrankung des Stoffes notig. Die- se wird hier durch eine Fokussierung der Kontinuumsmechanik auf isotrope, elastische Probleme erreicht. Das heiBt, es werden nur isotrope, hyperelasti- sche Materialgesetze behandelt und es werden ausschlieBlich echte Kontinua betrachtet, ohne spezielle strukturmechanische Annahmen zu machen. Dies reduziert zum einen die benotigten Konzepte fUr die Materialtheorie und zum anderen vereinfacht es die Behandlung der Kinematik und Kinetik. Die Kon- taktmechanik wird mit den Konzepten der Kontinuumsmechanik behandelt, insbesonders wird die allgemeine Form konstitutiver Kontaktgesetze aus ther- modynamischen Restriktionen abgeleitet, wobei die Kontaktflache als eine singulare Flache des Kontinuums aufgefaBt wird. In Analogie zur Kontinu- umsmechanik erfolgt hier ebenfalls eine Beschrankung auf den rein elastischen Kontakt. Spezielle Formulierungen, die sich zum Beispiel aus tribologischen Uberlegungen ableiten, werden nicht diskutiert. 1m Rahmen dieser Grenzen wird aber eine moglichst umfassende Behandlung angestrebt, die alle rele- vanten Konzepte anspricht und auch weiterfUhrende Literatur nennt.
