El breve encuentro entre ambos, que tiene lugar durante tan solo ocho días, cambiará para siempre el mundo creativo del escritor y encenderá la chispa que inspirará la creación de uno de sus personajes más poderosos, la elfa Galadriel, y del que será uno de los mayores fenómenos literarios del siglo XX.

Alicia García-Herrera, doctora por la Universitat de València y máster, se ha dedicado habitualmente al ámbito de la investigación en ciencias sociales y humanas. Colabora con la sección cultural del diario La Vanguardia y su suplemento, Revista de Letras; también con las revistas literarias Quimera, La Retaguardia, Mercurio y Crátera, además de ser conferenciante. En 2017 fue la ganadora del primer premio de narrativa de la Dirección General de l'Institut Valencià per les Dones i per la Igualtat de Gènere, con la obra Calle Progreso 36, se vende. Es autora de dos ensayos jurídicos y de la obra divulgativa Eso no estaba en mi libro de mitología griega (Almuzara, 2021). La dama blanca (Plaza & Janés, 2023), sobre el escritor J. R. R. Tolkien, es su primera novela.

Front at the Somme, October 1916. After Regina Trench was attacked, signal officer J. R. R. Tolkien falls ill with quintan fever. Due to his extreme weakness, he is evacuated to hospital number one of the Red Cross, at the Le Touquet-Paris-Plage Casino. There he is cared for by nurse Gala Eliard, a fascinating aristocrat running from a troubled past, driven by the need to save the life of at least one man. Their brief encounter, which lasts only eight days, would forever change the author's creative world and spark his inspiration to create one of the most powerful characters, the elf Galadriel, in what would become one of the greatest literary phenomena of the twentieth century.

Alicia García-Herrera has a masters degree and a doctorate by the Universitat de València, and has devoted her work mostly to social and human sciences research. She collaborates in the culture section of La Vanguardia journal and its supplement, Revista de Letras. She has also collaborated with literary magazines such as Quimera, La Retaguardia, Mercurio, and Crátera, apart from being a lecturer. In 2017, she received the first narrative award given by the Dirección General de l'Institut Valencià per les Dones i per la Igualtat de Gènere, with her story "Progreso Street 36, For Sale." She has written two law essays and the informational work That Was Not in My Greek Mythology Book (Almuzara, 2021). The White Lady (Plaza & Janés, 2023), about writer J. R. R. Tolkien, is her first novel.
