Así como el Sherlock Holmes que recorre las calles de Managua en busca de las pistas para atrapar a Jack El Destripador, resulta creíble porque sigue siendo un personaje de Connan Doyle, sólo que trasplantado al trópico centroamericano, el Coronel Evaristo Carazo es creíble desde su primera aparición porque está tratado como un personaje a veces ecuánime, las más de las veces arbitrario, austero, y a la vez matrero, que gobierna un país sumido en la oscuridad del atraso, al que alumbran las primeras luces republicanas.Quien entre en las páginas de La muerte de Acuario se encontrará con un libro lleno de sorpresas. El primer automóvil que llega al país, y que termina descalabrado en manos del propio presidente Carazo. El encuentro de Sherlock Holmes con Rubén Darío en una cantina de Managua. El banquete de estado que el presidente Carazo ofrece al presidente Soto de Costa Rica, en fallida visita oficial, siempre el conflicto del río San Juan de por medio.Y el fin de las pesquisas para hallar a Jack El Destripador, que el lector debe encontrar por sí mismas al final, ya que no me cabe duda de que todos quienes emprendan la aventura de leer este libro, llegarán cumplidamente, y con avidez, hasta la última página.
