La noche de tu ausencia es, como el mismo Paulo Padrós Garzón lo describe, "un nuevo intento y ninguna conquista" de una poesía más o menos enamorada, que a pesar de esa "ninguna conquista," (el autor no especifica qué tipo de conquista es...), sigue siendo profundamente bella y emotiva, por momentos tan sencilla que logra conmover hasta la fibra más íntima de quien lee este libro, y se va sintiendo identificado con muchos de los pasajes interiores descriptos. La mayor parte de esta obra ha sido escrita tomando como referencia la poesía persa - farsi, un género literario fundamental en las regiones de Asia Central, que abarca un período de alrededor de 2.500 años hasta la actualidad. Este género fue escrito mayormente en lengua persa, pero también podemos encontrar algunos ejemplares en árabe o griego, y su estilo es de una profunda emoción lírica, con un lenguaje sencillo y ricas métricas, cuya trama principal es el vínculo del poeta con la naturaleza, con las relaciones cortesanas y, sobre todo, la exaltación de las pasiones y del amor difíciles de demostraren una sociedad fuertemente estructurada, pero sin embargo muy apasionada. Son abisalmente bellos los retratos que los poetas del estilo hacen de la otra persona como un objeto del deseo, y que Padrós Garzón fielmente logra rescatar: Tu ombligo de canela fresca, tu vientre de chocolate en ramas disolviéndose bajo mis labios ansiosos, que Dios y la Virgen me salven de tu vientre, que me otorguen tu ternura como una dádivade manumisión eterna entre nuestros cuerpos. Como podemos ver, es importante la influencia religiosa dentro del género, personificadas naturalmente en la figura de Alá en los textos originales, pero que aquí el autor ha convertido en "latinoamericanismos" incorporando a Dios y la Virgen María. De todos modos encontramos la rusticidad típica del estilo al que Padrós Garzón nos tiene acostumbrados, es decir el de una poesía rupturista, irónica en algunos párrafos, y que siempre deja trascender un profundo contenido social detrás de sus bellos versos, ramplones de tan cotidianos: Me gustan las panzas lustrosas de los barrigones bebiendo cerveza, hablando estupideces hasta que el mundo se acaba.Arreglamos veinte veces el paísy después lo rompemos. .......porque no somos revolucionarios de panzas lustrosas, o tal vez sí, y nos creemos Che Guevara.Sobre el final de la obra, el autor nos muestra el privilegio que tienen los poetas de narrar un suceso traumático muy común en las sociedades modernas, y lo hace de manera bella, profunda, con una resignación calma que no deja de operar como una inmensa catarsis a la que todos y todas deberíamos recurrir: ...y ella lo abraza pero los besos suenan por encima de la música, ellos están solos y se besan en medio de la clínica, ellos están solos entre sueros y pinchazos y enfermeras solícitas, ellos están solos con un hombre desconocido al lado. Una inmensa catarsis es la de este libro, decía.Una hermosa y superadora catarsis a la que todos llegamos mientras lo leemos.
