About the Author: Jesús Maeso de la Torre (Úbeda, 1949) es uno de los autores de novela histórica más reconocidos de nuestro país. Estudió Magisterio en su ciudad natal y posteriormente obtuvo una licenciatura en Filosofía e Historia por la Universidad de Cádiz. A lo largo de su carrera ha simultaneado la docencia con la literatura y la investigación histórica. Ha recibido los prestigiosos premios Caja Granada de Novela Histórica y de la Crítica por La cúpula del mundo. Es académico de número de la Real Academia Hispanoamérica de Ciencias, Artes y Letras, ateneísta de mérito del Ateneo Literario, Científico y Artístico de Cádiz y miembro de la Sociedad Andaluza de Estudios Históricos y Jurídicos. Ha colaborado en medios como los periódicos El País, La Voz de Cádiz y Diario de Cádiz, y las revistas Clío, Andalucía en la Historia, Más Allá, Muy Historia e Historia y Vida, entre otras. Es autor de las novelas Al-Gazal, Tartessos, El Papa Luna, La piedra del destino, El sello del algebrista, El lazo púrpura de Jerusalén, La cúpula del mundo, En una tierra libre, La caja china (Ediciones B, 2015) y La dama de la ciudad prohibida (Ediciones B, 2016).
