About the Book

What Happened in the Woods? Somewhere in the wilds of Kel, a group of assassins need to impress their new chapter house master. A routine assignment seems like the perfect job. Only, the intended target did not... quite cooperate, and now Zanik has to explain why. What could go wrong?

Once Upon a Time in Karbashia. Before Sigmund, son of Ringneck, had moved to the five cities and become known as Sigmund of Umberland, he was known as Sigmund of Paravel. And Alba, now the most respected and feared corsair of Oleans, was just a young adventurer who dreamed of one day owning his own ship. During those years, they sometimes accepted a job not so much because they liked the sound of it, but simply because their last employer skipped town before paying them, and coin was light.

The Regent, the Princess, and a Gaggle of Assassins. In the Kingdom of Ebenvale, a recent string of murders has the Regent on edge- and rumors that an immortal woman, one of the Highborn, has come to his city seems like too strong of a coincidence. But the strange thing is- all the murder victims are assassins.

All Hail the King. In the Kingdom of Sumannaxx, the ten tribes of faun live in peace with the local human population, the dryads and everyone else. But there are always those who remember the days before Sumannaxx. And there are those who would plot to take his throne.

The Cave. In the Kingdom of Gelidros, a kidnapping lays the trail that leads to the ancient, abandoned cave of a cyclops. Do the shadows within that cave truly move as if they are alive? And will entering the cave expose the mystery of the kidnapping, or will another mystery emerge?

The Last Duel of Sigmund. Once a famous adventurer, Sigmund has long since settled in Umberland. He wife has passed away, and he spends his days running his fencing school, and enjoying the culture of the north. However, one day, an old foe comes to Umberland, and Sigmund's life may take an unexpected turn...

This short story collection, the third installment in the series of Kel, introduces some new characters as well as revisiting some characters from the first two books. Why are you still reading this description? Nothing exciting is happening here! Buy the book! Start reading!
