Il volume collettaneo Le poetiche del riso raccoglie cinquanta contributi di studiosi provenienti da dodici paesi e tre continenti. Il tema centrale è il modo in cui, nel periodo a cavallo tra l'Ottocento e il Novecento, il riso, in quanto espressione etica, estetica, retorica e filosofica dell'uomo, comincia a penetrare nella letteratura e nella drammaturgia italiana. Si inizia dagli autori ottocenteschi come Giacomo Leopardi o Carlo Dossi, segue quindi una lunga schiera di letterati e drammaturghi, tra cui spiccano Luigi Pirandello, Italo Svevo e Aldo Palazzeschi. Tutti autori che hanno colto i rivoluzionari impulsi del nuovo secolo come la psicoanalisi e la teoria della relatività. Questi autori hanno promosso il riso, e di conseguenza il comico, elevando quest'ultimo a livelli artistici che tradizionalmente erano riservati esclusivamente al tragico. Gli autori attivi nel periodo tra le due guerre trattati nell'ultima parte, portano il vessillo della risata soprattutto nella direzione del «riso sovversivo», un'arma potente contro qualsiasi totalitarismo. La vastità del tema non permette di offrire un resoconto esaustivo delle poetiche del riso; tuttavia, la ricchezza del materiale interpretato fa di questo volume una solida base che contribuisce fattivamente a creare il canone del comico e dell'umoristico nel primo Novecento.


About the Author:

Alice Flemrová ha insegnato letteratura italiana presso l'Università Carlo IV di Praga. Autrice di due monografie e di decine di saggi sulla letteratura dell'Ottocento e del Novecento. Curatrice e co-traduttrice di due volumi del teatro di Pirandello in ceco. Ha tradotto più di 70 titoli della letteratura italiana. Nel 2017 le è stato conferito il Premio Flaiano di Italianistica. Nel 2020 ha vinto il Premio Josef Jungmann per la migliore traduzione della Repubblica ceca.

Fausto De Michele è professore associato di Letterature Comparate presso l'Istituto di Romanistica dell'Università di Graz e presso l'Istituto di Letterature Comparate dell'Università di Vienna. Ha pubblicato saggi su diversi autori europei del Novecento, sulle teorie del Comico e sulla Commedia dell'Arte. È autore delle monografie: Guerrieri ridicoli e guerre vere nel teatro comico del ´500 e del ´600. Italia, Spagna e paesi di lingua tedesca (1998) e Phänomene einer Rezeption: Luigi Pirandello zwischen Intertextualität und Intermedialität (2015).
