About the Book

About the Book "Leopard Frog" South Africa, 1912, the renowned anthropologist, Dirk Edwards is running for his life through the seedy alleys and dank streets of Boma, the entrance harbor to the Belgian Congo. Edwards has run out of time. A determined German assassin is just hours away from silencing him and all the secrets he has discovered. Edwards is the last witness to reveal to the world a hideous secret hidden by the German war machine. The true story of the disappearance of this prominent scientists will not be unraveled until a retired Scotland Yard Chief Inspector, Burton Humphrey and his young research investigator, Penelope Skinner launch their own private inquiry and solve the seventy-year old mystery that has hung over London like a cold wet December fog. Along the way, Humphrey is thrust into the world of clandestine international politics where plans and policy are punctuated by lies and deceit. The final decision to publicly admit or refute the findings of the investigation and bring closure to the disappearance of one of London's beloved and finest humanitarians lies in the hands of the Queen of England.
About the Author: About the Author After a twelve-year period, Steve has returned to writing; his fictional stories weave intricate patterns with very well defined and most believable characters as they attempt to solve mysteries. His first novel in the series, "Leopard Frog" takes place in London in the 1980's with a backdrop of the Belgian Congo of 1910; a retired Scotland Yard Chief Inspector involuntarily finds himself involved in an unsolved mystery case. This case occurred over some seventy years ago and thousands of miles away from England. For those of us who love to read a great mystery, we are very excited to have Steve back in the literary world doing what he does best. His works of fiction encompass the tapestry of actual events in history with his characters artistically blending within that thin line that separates fact from fiction. Steve lives in the country a few miles away from Spokane, Washington, and when not working on his next novel, he is spending time at his cabin in the deep woods, playing music, or continuing his childhood love of owning and maintaining foreign sports cars.
