Der Blick dieser Arbeit konzentriert sich auf zweidimensionale Führungsansätze, wobei das Hauptaugenmerk auf der Unterscheidung zwischen transaktionalen und transformationalen Führungsstil liegt. Der transformationale Führungsstil hat stetig an Interesse und Bedeutung gewonnen. Aus diesem Grund wird er schwerpunktmäßig behandelt und es wird darauf eingegangen, inwieweit sich andere Führungstheorien in diese Konzeptionalisierung integrieren lassen. Bemerkenswert ist, dass der transaktionale Führungsstil nicht so häufig diskutiert und untersucht wird und nicht so im Zentrum der Betrachtung steht, wie der transformationale Führungsstil. Es soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, in welchem Kontext er seine Daseinsberechtigung hat und ob er für den Lernerfolg überhaupt relevant ist. Zielsetzung der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es auch zu diskutieren, inwiefern der Lernerfolg das Ergebnis des Führungsstils ist oder ob noch andere Faktoren eine (größere) Rolle spielen. Die Ausführungen beginnen mit der Erläuterung zentraler Begriffe und Modelle, die die Grundlagen und Besonderheiten dieser Arbeit aufzeigen. Es folgt ein kurzes, aber entscheidendes Kapitel, welches Einblicke in die Relevanz der Führungsstile für bestimmte Aspekte des Lernens offenbart. Das folgende Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit dem Lernen auf unterschiedlichen organisatorischen Ebenen, wobei auch eine Verknüpfung zwischen dem transformationalen und dem transaktionalen Führungsstil, sowie der einzelnen Dimensionen und dem Lernen angestrebt wird.
