About the Book

En 2010, Archibald Goustoquet, physicien nancéien de soixante-huit ans, travaille depuis quarante ans sur la mise au point d'une machine à voyager dans le temps. Son objectif: remonter dans le passé à l'époque des artistes de l'École de Nancy dont il est un fervent admirateur. Son premier essai l'envoie en février 1911 lors de l'inauguration de l'Excelsior, fleuron local de l'Art nouveau. Et c'est là qu'il rencontre Majorelle, Prouvé, Daum... Après un retour compliqué et quelques mésaventures, il se rend à New York pour présenter son invention au congrès mondial de physique. Dans le même avion, Julien Dorval, lycéen nancéien de dix-sept ans, va rejoindre pour la première fois Angie, sa correspondante américaine. Toujours dans le même avion, Malcolm Stuart, comptable dans une multinationale, rentre aux États-Unis après avoir été mandaté en France par le glacial président Shrub, pour annoncer des mesures de compression de personnel. Au-dessus de l'Atlantique, victime d'un attentat, l'avion explose. L'invention d'Archibald va leur sauver la vie, mais commence alors une avalanche de péripéties compliquées liées aux déplacements temporels. Trois destins qui ne devaient jamais se croiser, mais sous le signe des voyages temporels, tout devient possible. Pour le meilleur et pour le pire.
About the Author: Né en 1953 dans la Meuse, Patrick LAGNEAU est retraité de l'enseignement agricole où il a été professeur d'éducation socioculturelle pendant trente-trois ans. Il a placé, tout au long de sa carrière, son énergie créatrice dans le théâtre, la comédie musicale, l'écriture de scénarios et la réalisation de films vidéo avec lesquels il a conduit ses élèves et étudiants à de nombreux prix nationaux. Aujourd'hui vice-président et webmaster d'une association d'auteurs meusiens (PLUME, acronyme de Passion Littéraire de l'Union Meusienne des Ecrivains et illustrateurs), il se consacre à l'écriture de romans dans des genres éclectiques, pour le plaisir de raconter des histoires au gré de son imagination.
