About the Book

" A LETTER TO MY CHILDREN" is a book about holy matrimony. It is written for the millions of married couples and for all contemplating marriage. Its purpose is to understand, to strengthen, to protect and to sanctify marriage. The book explains that marriage is the nucleus and the Imperative of any human society and what obligations and authorities are derived from it. In contrast to the majority of writers about marriage, the clergy and psychologists, who treat the subject either dogmatic, psychoanalytic or corrective, this book speaks with the simple voice of a father of five children, 14 grandchildren, having been married 44 years and is now serving his families and society as a widower. In this book, marriage is seen with soul and heart, on a substantially higher level than a conjugal institution or social past time. It is constructive and preventive, rather than corrective. The book is arranged into five theme chapters in consecutive order. The first chapter paves the way to an understanding of the magnanimity of marriage. The second illuminates love, marriage's core element and motive force. The third chapter opens all the realities, the toil, the tears, the ecstasy; the guardianship of the heart, how many children?; the tragedies of divorce and death in the family. The forth leads into its very purpose - children. The final chapter analyses the existing negative forces and teachings, with a proposal of how to correct them. The book closes with a set of Ten Commandments for the married. Although based on Christian doctrine, A LETTER TO MY CHILDREN is equally valid for all marriages, regardless of spiritual orientation.
