About the Book

Note: This is book two in the three book series "The Elliott/Scottsdale Series." Book one, The Merger, sets up book two "The Letters" and is followed by book three, "The Truth." These books can be standalones; however, it is best to know the history of the characters. In book one, you will be introduced to the "Elliott" family as well as Landon Scottsdale, whose character plays a pivotal role in book one. In book two, Landon struggles with his life, his identity, and his family, while he meets the one person who can pull him from the clutches of total destruction. Hint: Book three "The Truth" is the shocking conclusion of book's one and two. You will be amazed at how all the truth come out. What Landon agrees to do and what Lori struggles to accept. "The Letters" A web of family lies, half-truths, secrets, and deception is now the definition of Landon's life. Events of the past that he knew nothing about nor did he have any control over has changed his life forever. Disowning his mother, while trying to hold on to his two sisters, Landon's two best friends are now Jack Daniels and Coke, and his new home is a bar stool by day and a park bench on the Waterfront by night. Landon Scottsdale, a well-known businessman, as well as a ladies' man has just experienced the worse day of his life, total destruction. One time CEO of Scottsdale Holdings, a fortune 500 company, Landon tries to contain his rage as he finds himself standing side by side with the man who has just taken everything away from him, including his business and his name. Tammy Cordell, a researcher for the Burlington Free Press newspaper, and a young lady who seems to have a unique way of attracting strays and helpless animals is also a frequent visitor of the Waterfront. One afternoon while having lunch at the Waterfront, a man, (a stray) who smelled as if he belonged in a brewery, and looked like a lumberjack left out in the wild without modern means, rudely interrupts Tammy and her peaceful hour. This interruption is the beginning of a journey that Tammy can't help but follow. Not having any clue as to who the man was, Tammy set out on a mission to find out everything she can about the man in the park. As fate would have it, Landon and Tammy have something in common or rather someone. Lori Scottsdale, Landon's sister and Tammy's boss. However, neither Landon nor Tammy is aware of the common denominator until it's too late. Lori, the chief editor of BFP, is determined to find out what has caused her brother to spiral out of control, destroying their family and him-self. Needing answers, and trying to help her brother, Lori finds herself seeking the help of the one person that Landon now despises, the person who took everything from her brother in which Lori knows nothing about. Landon's past, the lies, the mother's secrets, all of it, comes thrashing out and in the process, threatens to send Landon even further down a dark hole. Landon, Tammy, nor Lori has no idea what is in store for them, and in the center of it all, is Landon and Lori's mother, Scarlett. She along with the man Landon believes destroyed his life holds all the answers to set Landon free. However, Scarlett doesn't know if telling Landon at this point will help him or if learning the truth will divide an already son and mother even more and in the process destroy Landon and Tammy's relationship.
