Purtroppo in quel periodo un libro del genere non esisteva. Per molti anni avevo pensato di poterlo fare io. Ora quel momento è arrivato. Così il compositore contemporaneo Alessandro Esseno recita nella nota introduttiva del suo "L'evoluzione degli strumenti a tastiera nella musica Pop-Rock-Jazz". Un manuale prezioso, per certi versi indispensabile, se non altro a livello di notizie particolareggiate sui grandi musicisti della tastiera del XX secolo in ambito Pop, Rock e Jazz appunto: da Keith Emerson a Joe Zawinul dei Weather Report, da Tony Banks dei Genesis a Richard Wright dei Pink Floyd, passando per Rick Wakeman, Jon Lord, Kerry Minnear, e poi Chick Corea, Lyle Mays, Keith Tippett. Fino all'uso delle tastiere in artisti come i Tangerine Dream, i Depeche Mode o Howard Jones. Il compositore si sofferma anche su tutti i modelli più importanti di tastiere usate nel corso dei decenni dagli artisti sopracitati, per capire come si arriva alla creazione di sonorità che hanno segnato in maniera indelebile epoche storiche e generi musicali.
About the Author: Alessandro Esseno is an Italian pianist and composer. He trained at the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome and under composer Boris Porena, Antonio Scarlato, and Silvana Silla, before taking a course in electronic music with the contemporary composer Domenico Guaccero. In the years 80' it collaborates as pianist and arranger with some of the most important Italian artists near the RCA, and in the United States with the group rock Toto. In 1990 it publishes his first album to which follows an italian tour and the publication of the following cd in 1992 with to follow an European tour. In 1995 it is in tour in Italy with the Milano concerti, to which follows the pubblication, after a long preparation, in the 2003 of the new album. Same give year it begins his activity of composer with Rai Trade, for which realizes a series of jobs for the cinema and for the television gone to wave on the nets Rai with success among which "Russicum", "To die of politics", and "The holy alliance".
