About the Author: Called "Wagner 2.0" by music critics, award-winning Cuban American composer Sabrina Peña Young experiments with classical music and new media, creating "groundbreaking" works like the animated opera Libertaria, the prize-winning Creation Oratorio and the riveting World Order #5. In 2014 Young gave a TED Talk on her opera Libertaria at TEDxBuffalo. Libertaria: The Virtual Opera has been shown worldwide at the the Holland Animation Film Festival, the AnimaCyros Videoteque, 3rd Hildegard Festival, Women and Arts Festival Buffalo, Opera America, and Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Animation and Best Short Feature. Young's works have been at the Beijing Conservatory, NPR's Morning Edition, Art Basil Miami, the NY International Independent Film Festival, Turkey's Cinema for Peace, ICMC, SEAMUS, and throughout Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Americas. Young collaborated with UK composer Lee Scott on his web opera The Village. Young is the author of the science fiction series the Libertaria Chronicles.
