About the Author: KATIE O'DELL is the Reading Promotions Coordinator at Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon where she manages the Talk It Up! Book Discussion Groups for Kids program. She is an active member of the American Library Associations ALSC division, and has served on the 2001 Newbery Award Committee.
