She is an emotional intuitive, studied at Agnes Scott College and Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, and pursued her most profound learning in professional theatre and film. In her twenties, Burgess Novak acted and taught acting. Her theatre and film school was one of the most successful in Atlanta. She developed dynamic methodologies for actors based on energy and took this into the corporate arena.
