Brian S. Mills had a problem with his weight. A college wrestler in his youth and the owner of a successful physical therapy company, Mills fully understood the dangers of obesity. Yet despite an athletic lifestyle, the pounds kept on accumulating. His weight was beginning to affect his health and his quality of life.
Where other weight-loss methods failed, bariatric surgery allowed Mills to regain control of his weight.
In A Lighter Me, Mills guides readers through the bariatric surgery process, from choosing the right doctor to the importance of postsurgical guidance and support. You'll learn what to expect during presurgical appointments, the different surgical options available to you, and how to prepare for and recover from the procedure.
Equally important, Mills discusses the physical and psychological causes of weight gain, including yo-yo dieting and genetic predispositions.
Careful preparation and postsurgical lifestyle changes are essential for positive bariatric surgery outcomes. A Lighter Me offers a valuable resource throughout the process, improving your chance of regaining a healthy weight and more enjoyable life.
