About the Book

Detective Sean Hogan has everything: a beautiful wife. A loving, athletic daughter. A charismatic, artistic son. And a secret family. Things change in April 2003 when he finds his mistress home with her lover. His actions create an uncomfortable situation between Daniel and Faridah as they sit trapped in a Nor'Easter in February 2006. Young Gabriel undergoes an identity crisis after meeting his son Abraham that same year. Maybe things would have been different if Minnie never talked to Sincere in September 2001.
About the Author: SIR was born in Dominica, the last of both his mother's three and his father's twelve children. The weight of his youth was supported by matriarchal love: an aunt; his spiritual guide, cousins; his caretakers, a doting sibling and the various family friends aided in his upkeep. As a child, he was quiet, withdrawn. Within those quiet, withdrawn eyes, he recorded the world around him. From six to seventeen, he shuffled from hospital bed to exam room as he suffered from illnesses and related complications. Annually, he traveled to New York to receive care. He spent the American half of his life with his paternal family as they moved from Brooklyn to Queens during his outpatient care. Unable to participate in many physical acts, he focused his energies on drawing and writing. After high school, he applied to NJIT for architecture. In fall of 1998, he returned to Queens and began attending John Jay College preparing for a career in law. Halfway through his time there, he remained comfortable in silent anonymity until he joined the John Jay Times. While dedicating his time to the student press, he began to make the City breathe, indulging in the nightlife, succumbing to seduction and delving into debauchery. By the end of his first year on staff, he rose from writer to editor before being elected President. Focused on law school, he maintained honors throughout preparing himself for a soulless career. Then, her period was late. He was fired. They were evicted. With a new life depending on him, he feared the person he was; he needed to be do better for his son. He lived nomadically, moving from couch to fouton, Jamaica to Crown Heights to Flatbush before graduating. With unemployment looming, he joined a teacher training program three days before the start of school. Determined to provide and refusing to suffer the indignity of eviction again, he ignored his passions until he could secure a career in education. After securing a full time job, he and his partner decided to have a daughter and lived together in Manhattan. One year before completing his degree, the page magnetized him again, reigniting the passions within. After many false starts and delays, he completed his first novel Listen... Volume 1: death and prepares to share a lifetime of observation and analysis.
