About the Book

"Reading this book is like looking in the mirror...Much love for Professor Kreston Kent!" -Lil Wayne. #1 Bestseller on Amazon Rap category and iBooks Music category. Called a "thorough and incisive proof of Lil Wayne's genius" by critics, the book shows that Wayne's lyrics have more in common with Shakespeare's and Dylan's than with other rappers'. The 4th Edition includes Tha Carter V and Dedication 6; Lil Wayne's own reaction to the book; analysis of data from a Finnish university's computer rap algorithm, similarities between Wayne and Lincoln as writers, a definitive ranking of Wayne's albums and mixtapes.
About the Author: Kreston Kent, an exact contemporary of Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (aka Lil Wayne or Weezy) studied political science alongside Wayne at the University of Houston in the Spring of 2005. While Mr. Carter left academia to pursue his music, Kent continued on to graduate school at the University of Virginia en route to his future professorship. In addition to studying politics and philosophy, Kent studied classical composition at the Moore's School of Music and wrote a thesis analyzing musical forms and structures in the speeches of Abraham Lincoln. A recipient of the Earhart Foundation Fellowship, Professor Kent has taught at the University of Virginia, Piedmont Virginia Community College and college preparatory schools, instructing politics, philosophy and mathematics. Kreston Kent and The Literary Genius of Lil Wayne have been featured on VIBE, COMPLEX, XXL, Fansided and Sirius/XM Shade 45's The All Out Show. The book The Literary Genius of Lil Wayne has been a #1 bestseller on Amazon.com Rap category, both in print and Kindle editions, as well as #1 on iBooks Music category and #3 on iBooks' much broader Arts & Entertainment category.
