About the Author: Harish K. Malhotra, MD is a board certified psychiatrist in private practice in Summit, NJ. He was born in Lahore, now Pakistan, to Krishna and Sohan Lal. The family moved to India and his father worked in several different cities. Dr. Malhotra finished his MBBS (the MD equivalent) from Government Medical College, Amritsar. He did his residency in psychiatry at the Post Graduate Institute in Chandigarh. He came to the United States in 1973 and completed his residency in psychiatry from The University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ in 1975. He is a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at Rutgers University as well as the past Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. Dr. Malhotra has had over 20 articles published in scientific journals. Metaphors of Healing: Playful Language in Psychotherapy and Everyday Life is his first book and made the bestseller list for Hamilton Books.
