A pesar de los siglos que median entre aquél Lazarillo nacido en el Tormes y éste Lucio, venido al mundo de la mano de la inmigración provinciana en Madrid, son tan parejos los infortunios y tropiezos de uno y otro, que bien podría decirse que no es sino Lázaro redivivo quien vuelve al siglo para narrar sus nuevas y gremiales cuitas.
Manteniendo la estructura, concepción y espíritu del clásico, Francisco Callejo crea un personaje que aspira a la hidalguía, la honestidad y la rectitud, pero al que las circunstancias se le vuelven de tal modo en contra que no se le ofrece constantemente sino elegir entre la caballerosidad o la picaresca, la medra o el despido, la irrealidad oficial o la realidad oficiosa

EL AUTOR:

Francisco Callejo nació en Madrid en 1972. Estudió Derecho, Filosofía y Letras y Grado en Lengua y Literatura Españolas. Funda su vocación literaria como observador tenaz, resuelto descriptor y esgrimista idiomático. Ajeno al sofisma y a la regalada dádiva, atiza gramaticales pescozones con la diligente pátina de quien dirime retratos sacando a la luz desde el reverso de las más elementales características físicas, todo el trasfondo psicológico de sus personajes. Audaz, inspirado y concluyente, su sintaxis es un compendio de perfumado estro capaz de dejar en paños menores al más pintado, o de encarecer las encubiertas virtudes del destituido.Autor de la obra "Artículos para un fin de Fiesta", en ella y como conocedor del mundo del Toro por haberlo vivido desde dentro como aventura atemporal, lírica y perecedera, aguijonea sus resortes y cuestiona su andamiaje, no sólo alejándose del tan manido, artificioso y cacareado prosaísmo taurino, sino golpeándolo sin piedad en un ejercicio malabar que hace de él un autor transgresor, desenvuelto y sugestivo.
