Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im 20. Jahrhundert wurden Shakespeare und seine Werke zu Topoi, die eine Auseinandersetzung mit verschiedenen gesellschaftlichen Forschungsschwerpunkten ermöglichten. In Anbetracht der thematischen Diversität waren Umschreibungen und Bearbeitungen von Shakespeares Dramen in diversen Zeitepochen gefragt, da mithilfe dieser elisabethschen Dramen die sozialen und kulturellen Diskurse erweitert werden können. Shakespeares dramatische Werke werden im Rahmen verschiedener kultureller Kontexte ständig mit neuen Bedeutungen und Konnotationen aufgeladen. Nach Michel Foucaults Ansicht breiten sich das "Licht des Krieges" und "die Geburt der Geschichte" von der Shakespearezeit ins 20. Jahrhundert aus. Daher waren von Mitte bis Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts die Shakespeare-Stücke auf den europäischen Bühnen mit politischen Metaphern und Gedanken über die Geschichte angereichert, dazu zählen vor allem Macbeth - Nach Shakespeare (im Folgenden als Macbeth abgekürzt) aus der Feder des DDR-Dramatikers Heiner Müller und Macbett von dem Franzosen Eugène Ionesco. Als Europa unter einer neuen politischen Landschaft in Tyrannei und Diktatur gestürzt wurde, kam es zu Revolten und blutigen Repressionen. Infolgedessen sind die deutsche und die französische dramatische Literatur der 1960er- und 1970er-Jahre durch ihre Verurteilung von Politik und Macht eng verbunden. So geht die Analyse von Heiner Müllers Macbeth und Eugène Ionescos Macbett in der vorliegenden Arbeit von der Ansichten von beiden Dramatiker über Shakespeares Werke aus. Danach folgen die ausführliche Dramenanalyse einschließlich der Merkmale der formalen und inhaltlichen Struktur, die Figurenanalyse und die dramaturgische Konzeptionen. Schließlich liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der Auseinandersetzung mit der jeweiligen Geschichtsauffassung in beiden Stücken.
